ULI GLOBAL AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

On 22 October 2014, at its Fall Meeting held at the Javits Center in New York City, the Zuellig Building was awarded the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Global Awards for Excellence.  The Zuellig Building was one of 13 winners out of “a broad mix of exemplary projects from around the world.”

The ULI is a non-profit research and education organization with offices in Washington D.C., Hong Kong and London. The ULI was founded in 1936 and currently has more than 30,000 members. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI advocates progressive development, research and education in topics such as sustainability, smart growth and compact development.

The ULI Awards for Excellence define the standard for real estate development practice worldwide and are arguably the most important international urban development and real estate awards.  Initiated in 1978, the awards program is the centerpiece of the ULI’s efforts to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development.  A fundamental requirement for the award is that the project can serve as a model and that its success factors are transferable to other projects. Financial success and a significant contribution to urban society are taken into account as key criteria.  The awards program honors development projects in three regions: the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Winners from each of the three regions qualify for the Global Awards for Excellence competition.
